Dr. Meghan Howell is a complex care pediatrician and clinician-researcher who has an interest in high-risk infants and their caregivers. Dr. Howell opened and now directs the NICU Graduate Clinic, a NICU follow-up clinic that serves four sites across Southeast Louisiana. She has served as site-PI for NIH-funded clinical trials focused on infants with prenatal opioid exposure as well as serving as PI for investigator-initiated studies focused on improving the caregiving environment for a variety of infants within the NICU. Dr. Howell focuses on both patient-centered care but also in improving outcomes for infants with medical complexity. As part of pRVH, Dr. Howell hopes to advance collaborative approaches to infants with conditions less frequently encountered in traditional primary care settings as well as strength the outcomes focused research on these critical early childhood diseases.
