Dr. Baker-Smith is a funded clinician scientist, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Director of the Nemours Pediatric Preventive Cardiology Program, and co-director of the Nemours Cardiac Center Research and Innovation Program. She is nationally known for her work related to topics of cardiovascular disease risk factor development and diagnosis. Her clinical and research related work includes modeling and then designing diagnostic and treatment strategies to enhance equitable care delivery for children at risk for acquired heart disease. Dr. Baker-Smith is devoted to improving the health of children through the identification and development of implementable strategies for preventing causes of cardiovascular disease, including non-traditional risk factors, beginning pre-gestation and throughout the lifespan.
