Dr. Joao Amaral is a Pediatric Interventional Radiologist at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. He is currently the Division Head of Pediatric Interventional Radiology at the Image Guided Therapy Centre and the co-chair for the Image Guided Care Centre at the Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Amaral’s areas of special interest include the diagnosis and management of vascular malformations, renovascular disease and MR guided procedures.
Dr. Amaral graduated from the Federal University of Parana – Brazil in 1996 and completed his diagnostic radiology residency training at the same institution in 2000. He then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Radiology and Pediatric Interventional Radiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
